The forum is a vehicle for key industry players from the Middle East and North Africa regions to explore various opportunities in the FTTx market, such as most recent fibre deployments and the services that help boost the fibre uptake.

At the event, Amir Ghoddoussi, Product Marketing Manager, Ericsson outlined Ericsson's Fibre Access Network from Central Office to the Home concept.

In his presentation, he stressed on the integrated fibre solutions of Ericsson's end-to-end capability and on the challenges that operators need to overcome in order to efficiently roll-out fibre solutions to their customers.

According to Mr Ghoddoussi, operators that have the ambition to deliver fibre-based services to their customers, such as fast broadband, Internet, IPTV and video-on-demand need to overcome key challenges in undertaking this ambition. These key challenges relate to quality, cost, speed of deployment and flexibility, he says. "We offer the very best end-to-end solutions to our customers."

Jeremy Foster Marketing Director for Ericsson in the Middle East is optimistic about the event "We see this as an excellent opportunity to share ideas with our customers and other stake holders in the region. We've brought equipment and subject matter experts from Europe and the Americas in order to deliver the most leading edge thinking on FTTx solutions in the world"

The deployment of fiber technology helps to meet the growing demand for faster internet services and data which consumers value. Today, as the Middle East is looking to install fibre technology and build infrastructure of the scale of smart cities, operators need to look at technologies such as fibre installation, that help deliver on those demands efficiently.
