BMB designated 'No. 1 Cisco Partner for the commercial sector in North Africa and Levant' for the year 2009

BMB group, the leading provider of ICT solutions in Lebanon and the region, has been proudly designated "No. 1 Cisco Partner for the commercial sector in North Africa and Levant" for the year 2009 by Cisco, and that during the company's 3rd annual "Customers Get Together and Technology Updates" event.

This important prize comes in recognition to BMB's achievements and efforts in the field of ICT in the region. Yet, the award was merely one of the many highlights of this annual rendezvous, which was set on board of a luxurious boat, at large. In fact, representatives of major Lebanese and international companies were able to share valuable updates about the ICT industry while enjoying a relaxed business atmosphere.

From her end, BMB's Chief Operations Officer for the Levant area, Mrs. Maria Tohme gave an update about BMB's latest expansions in Egypt, KSA, Jordan, Libya, Algeria, UAE and Syria. Tohme also approached the company's new partnerships with VMWare and Nexius as well as the company's new service offerings, thanking the customers for their continuous loyalty and support.

Cisco's General Manager, Mr. Fadi Moubarak, exposed Cisco's vision of a 'borderless Network', one that can be achieved using Cisco's modern technologies. Moubarak explained that "the entire world has become the new workplace. It's all now about communicating and working with anyone, anywhere, using any device and resource." On the other hand, Cisco's newly acquired company Ironport, represented by Mr. Joseph Hanna, laid ahead the latest internet based threats and security solutions the company has to provide.

The day also featured other key presentations made by International speakers from BMB's technology partners, including McAfee, Blue Coat, Websense, Leviton, LaserFiche and Redline.

In fact, a major topic of the international IT scene today is the security of the network. In this line, Mr. Hamed Diab, Middle East and North Africa Director at McAfee, the security leader, underlined the company's end to end services as well as its data loss prevention solutions. From his end, Mr. Asim Azmi, Sales Engineer at Websense Middle East, explained how Websense, the leader in content security, could help protect e-mail trafficking inside and outside an organization through understanding the destination context, and detecting how this data is used, where it is stored and finally applying effective prevention policies.

Another topic of discussion was the new IT offerings provided by leading industry players. Blue Coat Senior Product Marketing Manager, Mr. Dave Ewart gave a brief about the "Blue Coat Application Delivery Network" and how it improves visibility, application and security. From his end, Mr. Shady Youssef, Leviton's Manager talked about the company's cabling services, while Ms. Pamela Ayoub gave a brief about LaserFiche - the Electronic Document Management Leader - products exclusively distributed by BMB for the EMEA region. Finally, Mr. Ziad Choueiry, Territory Manager for Redline, the WIMAX leading company specialized in professional wireless broadband solutions, exposed the versatility, ease of use, and most importantly the unmatched range of capacity of Redline products.
