In line with its policy of supporting the nation's cultural and community activities, Union National Bank (UNB) announced its platinum sponsorship of HCT's Festival of Thinkers (FOT). The FOT will be held at the Emirates Palace in AUH and will host more than 100 world renowned thinkers in Abu Dhabi and will shed light on emerging issues in the areas of economy, sociology, philosophy and science.
UNB has also been the platinum sponsor of the FOT for the past few years. UNB is playing a key role in the highly acclaimed intellectual event and urges all youth to seize this opportunity to interact and learn from the world's greatest scholars. Collaborating with HCT is an ongoing process where both entities aim to support, develop, and educate the youth of the nation which will ultimately assert the development of the UAE as a whole.
Abu Dhabi is currently hosting a large number of high profile cultural events and attracting renowned intellectual capacities, which will positively impact the capital city and thrust it into a dynamic and pioneering role.

A strong testament to this was when the Bank won the 2004 / 2005 Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award, Gold category and the 2005 Dubai Quality Award in the financial sector.
In 2002, UNB became the first bank of its size in the Middle East to be ISO 9001:2000 certified across its entire operations in the UAE by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance for its Quality Management Systems under the terms set out by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service -UKAS - scheme. This certificate was renewed during 2005 and the bank is poised for recertification during 2008 demonstrating commitment to Quality and continuous improvement.
