D-Link Xtreme N storage router receives 2009 Good Design Award

D-Link Middle East, the end-to-end computer network solutions provider for consumers and businesses, today announced that Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization, the organization involved in the comprehensive promotion of design, has awarded D-Link's DIR-685 with its 2009 Good Design Award (G-Mark Award) in the "Network/Home Computers and Peripherals" category.

The DIR-685, which was introduced earlier this year, is the first home network router in the industry to incorporate fast 802.11n Wi-Fi, digital photo frame, and network attached storage capabilities as well as other features into one device. In addition, the all-in-one router implements Green Technology, an innovative feature that the Company has continued to use in its devices to help provide for a cleaner environment.

The Good Design Award (G-Mark Award), along with the iF and the Red Dot, is one of the world's most prestigious industrial design awards. Entries for this year's Good Design Award competition opened on April 22 and received 2,952 applications from all over the world. As a result of the first and the second screening, 1,034 items received Good Design Awards. The DIR-685 was one of 283 products within the Network / Home Computers and Peripherals category to receive a Good Design Award for 2009.

The final results of the Good Design Award were announced on October 1, 2009. As a recipient of the award, D-Link may use the Good Design's logo on their DIR-685, which will also be published in the "Good Design Awards Yearbook 2009-2010."
