Alumco Group wins the aluminium facades contract for Meena Plaza at Port Zayed Abu Dhabi

The Meena Plaza, a luxurious project strategically located in the heart of Port Zayed, is developed by Tamouh, has been designed by KDI Architects and is under construction by Zelan Holding of Malaysia.

The four towers fast track project started in March 2008 and to be completed by September 2010 will feature up to 20 types of bedrooms, as well as offices. Shopping boulevards will be available to every tower to cater to the needs of the area. Participates will be taken care of with a medical centre and ample parking space to ensure that residents and office-goers are comfortable and at ease at all times.

The contract won by Alumco Group (UAE Branch) will see the installation of a total of 36,000 Sqm of curtain walls and glazing, among which 25,000 Sqm of unitized panels and includes about 60,000 Sqm of aluminium composite panels.

The aluminium façade system of Meena Plaza Tower which is designed, fabricated and installed by Alumco Group is a fully unitized and customized system to suit the structural and esthetical requirements of the building. In addition the project shall feature special design effects with a Spider Atrium and Skylight at the Podium, as well as an inclined curved curtain wall façade. Alumco Group shall also oversee the installation of a 4 floors height Stainless Steel Spider Observatory Lift. About 6,000 Sqm of Vertical Fins with 10mm Stainless Steel supports and aluminium covering will top up the work.

They acted as the aluminium contractor to prestigious projects in the United Arab Emirates for the Ettihad Towers, in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia such as Red Sea Mall and Ministry of Interior, as well as in Lebanon for the Habtoor Hotel and the Platinium towers. In Qatar, Alumco Group has secured the works for Barwa City and the outstanding Barwa Commercial Avenue.
