The Action Zone At Terminal 1 & Terminal 3:
One of the most popular attractions is The Action Zone, an interactive area where passengers, specially enthusiast fans, can see real F1 equipment and use some of the training technology to test their potential as a driver. The zone showcases the training and racing equipment used by F1 drivers, with some of the gear provided by Red Bull Racing.
Also proving popular are the fully interactive Batak Boards, which are used in training by F1 drivers. The equipment comprises buttons on metal frames that are hit in sequence, testing reaction times, memory and peripheral view. Balance training equipment is also available for passengers to get a taste of what the drivers go through to increase their physical conditioning. There is also a full drivers kit, which has everything an actual driver wears during the race, including authentic fireproof overalls.
Other activites taking place at the Action Zone include meeting with UK graffiti artists, Edge and Boyd, where passengers get the chance to learn a crash course in graffiti art using F1 themes on huge canvases; and draw their 'Dream F1 Car'. An area has been dedicated for children to sit and sketch their dream F1 car, which becomes particularly popular in the evenings.
Moreover, a video installation with twelve different screens showcasing the insights of F1 teams on the sport is avalailable in Terminal 1 to keep travellers entertained during their time between flights. Passengers will enjoy viewing historical moments of F1 races since its creation in 1950; through a serious of photos along the airport walkways, paying tribute to 6 decades of F1 racing. The photo exhibition is known as 'The Walk of Fame'.
Everyone driving to Abu Dhabi International Airport will get the chance to see number of impressive sand sculptures, including one weighing over 100 tonnes, built at the roadside at the entrance to the airport by American sculptor, Raymond Wirick. All sculptures have an Abu Dhabi and F1 theme, including landmarks, such as Emirates Palace and Yas Island.

About Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC)
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is a public joint-stock company wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government. It was incorporated by Amiri Decree number 5, issued on 4 March 2006, to spearhead the development of the Emirate's aviation infrastructure.
In September 2006, ADAC took over responsibility for the operation and management of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain international Airports. In 2008, ADAC added Al Bateen private jet airport, formerly Al Bateen military airbase, and Sir Bani Yas and Delma Island Airports to its portfolio. These airports all serve different segments of the marketplace and help contribute to Abu Dhabi's development as a destination for both business and leisure tourism.

As part of this redevelopment, a second runway and a third terminal have been completed. A new ATC tower and Midfield Terminal Complex will complete the redevelopment within the next few years.
