DM leadership discusses status of strategic objectives

Dubai Municipality held a workshop for its senior leadership team to propose and develop the strategic objectives of the Municipality as part of a series of ongoing workshops within the framework of the action plan of the comprehensive updating of the Strategic Plan 2010 -2014.
Maryam Al Hammadi, Director of Corporate Excellence Department at Dubai Municipality said that the discussion between the leaders went on the priority and importance of the points contained in the analysis of internal and external environment that must be addressed and set ambitious targets to them.
Importance was given to the fact that the objectives of the Municipality should come in harmony with the modern changes and it should contribute to achieving the ambitious goals in the Emirate in all sectors.
In this context, the discussions focused on the importance of improving the quality of services provided to the community in order to make Dubai an excellent city that provides the comfort of living to all residents and the ingredients for success in all areas of work such as investment and trade through the key roles of Municipality to the society of the Emirate.
The discussion also concentrated on the priority issues to improve the quality of the environment and the services associated with them such as waste treatment in accordance with international best practices as well as spreading green areas to maintain the renewed and attractive appearance of the city.
The discussion also emphasized the importance of ensuring public safety, food safety, drinking water safety, and occupational safety for all workers in all fields.
However, the top priority was given to urban growth and achieving a balance in land uses consistent with the comprehensive plan of the Emirate, and in accordance with the directions of the Government through comprehensive coordination with all responsible and relevant authorities.
Al Hammadi added that the discussions tried to determine the orientations and objectives of the Municipality in general and formulating a flexible structure to ensure the effectiveness of their application according to the Balanced Scorecard and to ensure the success of the objectives in a holistic manner.
The discussion underlined the importance of concerted efforts from employees of all levels and qualifying them so as to ensure their competence and improve their skills for the implementation of the roles assigned to them in their respective fields, as well as efficient use of material and financial resources to ensure achievement of all programs and projects in a timely manner.
It was agreed that the ultimate goal of Dubai Municipality is to achieve the satisfaction of all concerned, whether internal or external, and meet their needs and improve the quality of services provided to them.
