The drivers autographed caps for the crowd and presented one lucky Scuderia Ferrari fan with the grand prize of Mubadala's 'Wear the Cap' promotion, a trip for two to the 2010 Formula One™ Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. More than 20, 000 Mubadala Ferrari caps have been won by fans over the past two months as part of the campaign in the lead up to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
"The challenge of the new track coupled with the fact that Ferrari has such strong ties to Abu Dhabi makes this one of the most exciting grands prix of the season. Abu Dhabi is a real home away from home for the Ferrari team. From our long-term partners Mubadala to exciting future developments like Ferrari World - the Ferrari presence is very visible here and the support from the whole community is fantastic."
said Scuderia Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen.
Over 18, 000 Ferrari fans have visited the Mubadala Zone since 16 October to learn more about the sport of motor racing and tackle the range of interactive Ferrari-themed challenges, including F1 simulators, reaction tests and the Shell Pit Stop Challenge.
The Mubadala Zone is part of the F1 Fanzone™ and the Yasalam programme of activities. The Fanzone includes a host of F1™ themed entertainment and interactive experiences which will be on offer to the general public completely free from the 16 October to 1 November.
In 2005, Mubadala purchased 5% stake in Ferrari. In 2007, Mubadala also extended its partnership with Ferrari to become a sponsor of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One™ team, taking Mubadala and Abu Dhabi to a global audience.
