In line with its strong commitment to the local community, Sabre Bahrain joined Sabre offices from 56 countries around the world to participate in this week-long global campaign to raise funds for its local charity.

Give Together, Sabre's largest philanthropic endeavour, is a week-long global campaign in which Sabre staff, make personal contributions and raise funds for local and international charities. Since its inception in 2000, it has raised upwards of US$12 million, with Sabre Holdings contributing $500,000 corporate match each year.

"Sabre Travel Network has a longstanding history of supporting local community activities and charities in every country we operate in," said Daniel Naoumovitch, CEO of Sabre Travel Network Middle East (STNME). "At Sabre Bahrain, we strongly encourage staff community activities and Give Together is the perfect time when everyone can pitch in and get involved."

"In the current economic climate, it can be easy to lose sight of the importance of giving back to the community. Our global Give Together campaign serves as an annual reminder of the importance of helping our communities, and gives our staff a framework to engage in fundraising activities that make a positive contribution to society," said Naoumovitch. "Sabre fully supports the Bahrain Cancer Society whose laudable goal to help patients and families cope with the disease is a valuable public service."

Give Together's activities in Bahrain included a most successful Bake sale conducted at the STNME headquarters in the NBB Tower, a raffle draw with exciting prizes for all Sabre Bahrain employees, an Xbox tournament and a lecture on cancer awareness by the American Mission Hospital.

Overwhelmed by the support shown by the NBB building community, Naoumovitch thanked everyone who contributed to make the event a resounding success. "We were touched and thrilled to see people's enthusiasm as they dug deep into their pockets for this charitable cause.

A sincere thank you to all our staff, vendors, hoteliers, restauratnteurs and everyone who donated their time, money and effort in order to make this week a triumph.

Earlier this year Sabre Bahrain employees volunteered at the local charity Rehabilitation Institute for Active Learning (RIA), helping to replant the Institute's garden. Campaigning for a healthy, green and natural environment, Sabre's volunteer work was well received and appreciated by RIA's staff and students alike.
