The Middle Eastern PC and console video gaming industry is currently experiencing a surge of phenomenal growth, estimated to be worth $750m in 2008; reflecting both the young tech-savvy demographic and an increasing penetration of broadband connectivity in the region. As the popularity of gaming continues to rise, Logitech remains focused on delivering its range of great products to the region's avid gamers.
Logitech gaming devices offer both the PC and console platforms to gamers - ranging from wheels, to precision mice and keyboards, headsets and a wide range of gaming controllers within its G series products. Pluto will also distribute the latest Xbox gaming products, including Logitech's latest Guitar Hero and Drums; which visitors to the Logitech stand at the Dubai World Game Expo this week will be able to see and play for themselves.
Yousef Atwan, Regional Director Middle East & Africa for Logitech, commented:
"Gamers can be very demanding consumers but we understand their requirements, thanks to years of conversation and close collaboration supporting our product development. Working with Pluto, we will ensure that our products are available throughout the Middle East's retail outlets, reaching gamers wherever they prefer to shop. We are very excited to have Pluto on board and look forward to a prosperous relationship here in the Middle East."
Rami El-Hussein, Managing Director of Pluto, added, "Video gaming is currently the fastest growing entertainment market in the region, offering a wealth of opportunity for suppliers of specialist software, hardware and peripheral equipment. Logitech is a very popular brand worldwide and there is enormous potential for expanding its reach in this region through our specialist channel offering. We look forward to working with Logitech and bringing its market leading products and accessories range to gaming enthusiasts throughout the Middle East."
The partnership will span the Middle East region, with gaming products distributed by Pluto planned to reach stores in October 2009. Logitech will be participating in the Dubai World Gaming Expo, 27-29 October, 2009.
