Mashreq expands Middle East operations to Kuwait

Leading financial institution, Mashreq inaugurated its 94th Branch in the Middle East region with its first branch opening in Kuwait with a capital of 15 Million Kuwaiti Dinars.

The move demonstrates Mashreq's strategic expansion plans and its commitment to the MENA region, whilst additionally providing customers with greater accessibility and convenience to meet their corporate and retail banking needs.

The inauguration of Mashreq's branch in Kuwait was attended by H.E. Jassem Al Kharafi, Speaker of The National Assembly of Kuwait and H.E. Abdul Al Aziz Al Ghurair, CEO of Mashreq.

During the branch opening H.E. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, CEO Mashreq stated:
"Kuwait has one of the most successful and sophisticated banking systems in the GCC and holds strategic importance within the overall expansion plans for the bank. We firmly believe that a strong regional network is a key attribute for a successful bank. I wish to personally thank the Central Bank of Kuwait for their help and cooperation in the opening phase of our branch."

The newly opened Branch combines a team of 20 qualified and experienced staff who have undergone extensive training in all aspects of Mashreq's systems, various products and services. Amongst the team, Mashreq attracted a significant number of young and talented Kuwaiti professionals including the Heads of Retail and Corporate business units, as well as other leading positions in the Mashreq family.

Over the last 12 months Mashreq has extended its operations in Abu Dhabi & Al Ain in UAE and Egypt, making significant progress in its long term ambition to build on Mashreq's strong local presence and become a leading MENA financial institution.
