Emirates Energy Award Committee roams through GCC

Emirates Energy Award (EEA) explanatory round was launched recently in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, where Dr. Abdullah Al Amiri, Secretary-General of the award, has met with H.E. Dr. Badr Al Sharean, minister of electricity and water of Kuwait.
Dr. Al Sharean expressed his deep appreciation for the award, which comes under a noble patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and also the devoted efforts to make a success which would contribute in the energy management and preservation which aims to achieve the desired sustainable development.
During his visit, Dr. Al Amiri met senior ministry officials in the presence of Eng. Montaser Zamzam, a member of the EEA Committee, who informed them of the award's achievements in the previous two sessions. He also stated that the participation is open to all individuals and organizations from all nationalities on the condition that the submitted project should have been implemented in one of the GCC countries, where the deadline for submitting nominations is December 17, 2009.
Dr. Al Amiri touched on the award's objectives, which is organized by Dubai Quality Group (DQG), as it defines the best implemented practices in energy management and preservation, and showcase innovative and tangible reality in the Middle East, including increasing the awareness of energy and its importance in wide community levels, as well as contributing in the formation of a conviction of the importance of optimal use of energy and reaching a clear policy in energy management and preservation among the community members.
