DTCM organise health check-ups and awareness programme for employees

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) conducted a medical check-up and health awareness programme for the employees as part its efforts towards their wellbeing.

Ms.Shaima Younis Baker, Head of Employee Relations at DTCM Human Resources Department, said the programme was conducted in cooperation with Health Education and Nutrition Unit at the Dubai Health Authority for two days under the slogan Your Well Being is our Concern. The medical examination programme included checkups for blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, height, BMI and calories.

Ms.Khawla Alghufili, Head of Personal Services at DTCM Human Resources Department, said the staff members took advantage of the programme and the department will be arranging follow-up checkups for those who have been advised to counter potential health risks.

The programme was within the framework of DTCM's seven Adaat values, including being an employee-focused organization. Ms.Shaima said the department will create better health awareness through SMS service and also coordinate with health clubs. One of the highlights of the programme is to help employees fight obesity, diabetes and hypertension and other life-style related diseases.

A lecture on healthy foods was also conducted.
