Dubai won the award for the first time in its history, beating the likes of Tourism Australia, and Barbados Tourism Authority.

Lucy Huxley, editor of TTG, said:

"We had a record number of entries this year, demonstrating the resilience of the travel industry in this recession, so any firm which has won an award can feel very proud. Entrants are rated by the travel agents they work with, before being judged by panels of industry experts. Winners truly deserve to be named the best in our industry."

Ian Scott, Director DTCM UK and Ireland office in London said, "These awards are regarded as a universal benchmark of quality within the travel industry. Winning is a tremendous achievement for DTCM representative office, particularly in a year when there have been a record number of entries. This recognition is testament to the solid trade relations we have built, the innovation we have shown, and the outstanding quality and effort of the work the team has done in the last 12 - 18 months."

Judges for the awards include managing directors and chief executives of some of the biggest names in the travel industry, including ABTA, TUI and Virgin Holidays, in addition to leading figures from the worlds of commerce and retail.
