Dubai Airshow, being held at the city's Airport Expo, is the foremost aerospace event in the Middle East and the fastest growing in the world.

The Typhoon, an agile, multi-role aircraft, specially optimised for high-altitude, supersonic air combat, while retaining considerable ground-attack capabilities, will be flown by the UK's Royal Air Force (RAF).

The aircraft is built by a four-nation consortium comprising BAE Systems of the UK, Alenia Aeronautica of Italy, EADS Deutschland and EADS Spain.

Alison Weller, Director of show organiser F&E Aerospace, said she was pleased to welcome the RAF to Dubai Airshow. She stated, "The appearance of the Typhoon jet will confirm that Dubai Airshow will now really be a high-tech, state-of-the-art military aviation display, illustrating the cutting-edge nature of defence in the Middle East."
