The new model was unleashed at the Classic Digest Annual Golf Tournament which was sponsored by Gargash and was witnessed by the members of the emirates Golf Club, senior executives of corporate houses, members of the media and some of Dubai's well-known personalities, who were all eager to discover the unique features of the highly-anticipated vehicle.

Wassim Derbi, Marketing Manager of Gargash Enterprises, said:
"The launch of the new Mercedes S-Class 2010 model offers motoring enthusiasts in the Emirate a whole new experience. This is the first full-fledged luxury Sedan from Mercedes- Benz and we are positive that this model would have all the answers when it comes to futuristic design, safety features like; innovative display concept, Attention Assist -Drowsiness detection system, Adaptive High Beam Assist and Night View Assist with special pedestrian detection system, the whole concept behind the model was not only to protect its own occupants, but also makes a significant contribution to the increased safety of other road users."

The new model is naturally equipped with the 'Comfort Factor' and comfort has always been an outstanding strength of the S-Class. It goes without saying that spaciousness and ergonomics are exemplary but one of the most interesting feature of S-Class would be the unique 'SplitView technology', this innovative concept enables the driver and front seat passenger to view different content on the same screen simultaneously. While the driver is using the map-based navigation system, the co-driver can watch a movie on DVD.

The new S- Class also comes with another big step forward when it comes to 'protection system', Customers can now choose from a unique combination of the latest assistance and protection systems this includes all systems that are also available in the new E-Class - from the Attention Assist- drowsiness detection system, Adaptive High Beam Assist and Night View Assist with special pedestrian detection, all the way to Distronic Plus and the Pre-Safe Brake. The S-Class is the Most successful Luxury Sedan in the Middle East and nearly 7,000 S-Class models sold in 2008.

The greatest feature of the new model is that it supports the internal combustion engine with a maximum power output of 20 hp and a starting torque of 160 Newton meters and has the huge potential for fuel savings under constant-speed driving conditions on a highway. The intelligent electronic system recognizes the situation and automatically adjusts the load point of the internal combustion engine, leading to improved fuel consumption.

The combined power output of the new S- Class model is a remarkable 299 hp with a combined torque of 385 Newton meters but that's not what makes the model click, the advance driver assistance systems make the S-Class a "thinking partner" for its driver. The car can "see", "feel", "react reflexively" in the face of danger in order to avoid accidents or to minimize their consequences and this not only protects its own occupants, but also makes a significant contribution to the increased safety of other road users.
