Major presence for Agility at SITL

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, November 02 - 2009 at 14:19
  • PRESS RELEASE

Agility, a leading global provider of integrated logistics, will be showcasing its range of services and expertise in the Middle East and African region at the SITL exhibition; the most important date on the transport and logistics calendar in the Middle East.

The event will take place from 3-5 November 2009 at the Dubai International Convention Centre. Agility can be found at stand L19 and will boast a 72sq/m booth, where Agility's experts will be available to share with the visitors first-hand, their logistics solutions and services for all sectors across Middle East & Africa.

Commenting on behalf of Agility, Elias Monem, CEO for Middle East and Africa, said:

"2009 has been a turbulent year across global industries, and the transport & logistics sector has not been immune to this. Thus, when an exhibition as prestigious as SITL hosts its inaugural exhibition in Dubai, we took the decision to showcase ourselves to the regional and international public. Furthermore, we want to show how we, at Agility, differentiate our services and product offerings in this region and are positioning ourselves to best serve our customers' logistics requirements across Middle East & Africa going forward."

Agility recently announced the opening of a cargo consolidating freight station in Dubai - a major new consolidation and redistribution service. This new service will be offered to all shippers and consignees who have shipment of less than a container load (LCL). The launch was the next logical step, as it continues to add value to its services in the MENA region.

Furthermore, in September, Agility secured the logistic contract for Qatari based RasGas, the country's premier liquefied natural gas (LNG) enterprise. The scope of the multi-million dollar contract comprises global freight forwarding, transportation and customs clearance for a period of four years, both locally and around the world. As well, last week, Agility was appointed as the official customs clearing and on-site handling agent for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Awarded the Best Logistics Services Provider (BLSP) at the 3rd Annual Middle East Logistics Awards (3rd MELA), held in Dubai this year, Agility operates a worldwide network of 550 offices in 120 territories. The company boasts a fleet of over 7000 vehicles in the Middle East that supports a comprehensive network of warehousing and distribution services in the region, offering customer-driven solutions dedicated to meeting its customers' supply chain needs.
