Dubai Municipality launches Unified Revenue Collection system

Dubai Municipality, with the joint participation of its Finance, IT Contracts and Purchasing departments has launched a new project called Unified Revenue Collection. The launch was attended by Mr. Mohammed Abdulkareem Julfar, Assistant Director General for Finance and Property Affairs in the Municipality.

According to Arif Ahli, Director of Finance Department, Unified Revenue Collection is a project that serves all organizational units of Dubai Municipality. It links incomes of the Municipality from various relevant systems. It was made into a unified system to facilitate controlling the financial operations of the Finance and Contracts & Purchasing departments.

He added that this project aims to provide
baseline data for all types of fees in the Emirate of Dubai and their approved values as per the local orders, regulations and instructions. It provides programmes of inquiry and the necessary reports as it covers periodic and administrative reports of internal control and audit and those of performance indicators. It is possible to take those reports in different ways.

In addition to that the system aims to provide different channels of payment as per the needs of the customers and satisfies their needs as the customer can pay through the Municipality Centres, the e-payment gateway through the Municipality website, payment by mobile phone devices, and ATMs of banks.

The study of the project was carried under the supervision of e-transformation team in the Finance Department headed by Siddeeque Al Attar and the members of the team were Mohammed Rashid, Waad Al Marzouqi, Shatha Al Shamsi, Mohammad Shaaban, Sana Yusuf, Hussein Yaghi, and Hisham Al Mir, with the technical support of technicians from the IT Department.

AbdulHakim Malik, Director of IT Department said that as regards improving customer services, the system helps the customer to pay through various means, such as cash, credit cards, and e-Dirham. He added that this system has another features that it supports the operations of communication with customers through e-mail, voice mail and fax.
