Entrepreneur Business Village signs MoU with Canadian Business Council

The Entrepreneur Business Village, an initiative by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development, to create an entrepreneurial hub in Dubai, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Canadian Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The MoU aims at supporting innovative ideas that accelerate economic growth in Dubai.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Abdul Baset Al Janahi, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development, and Ms. Marie-Josée Primeau, Chairman of the Canadian Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the EBV and the Canadian Business Council.

"This partnership reflects our efforts to achieve the objectives as set by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the city's position as a hub for business leadership and ambitious enterprise,"

said Al Janahi.

"The MoU aims to raise the spirit of initiative and creative thinking amongst entrepreneurs, companies and small and medium enterprises, and motivate them to contribute to their own and the overall economic growth. Canadian Business Council will share their expertise in supporting SMEs and thus further enable us to meet our objectives," he added.

The MoU comes as part of the organization's strategy to sign partnerships with international institutions, strengthen ties of cooperation with economic organizations and thus stimulate the small and medium enterprises sector. It focuses on developing joint programs to enhance the performance of members and develop their projects through regular interactions. The agreement will also work to create new jobs, thus adding to the socio-economic welfare of the nation. The partnership will also contribute to encouraging members to participate in specific exhibitions, workshops and seminars.

The Canadian Business Council will work to establish many activities in Entrepreneur Business Village, which will provide business incubation services for joint ventures.

Ms. Marie - Josée Primeau, President of the Canadian Business Council said, "Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development is setting new benchmarks in the development of the small and medium enterprises sector. Through the MoU, we can share global best practices with the Establishment members and also assist them with market information, and in enabling growth through collaborations with Canadian businesses. We are very delighted to be actively involved in all future business development platform. We will definitely work towards materializing our mutual vision."

The Entrepreneur Business Village aims to provide support and guidance for small and medium-sized enterprises. It extends on an area of 1 million square feet strategically located in Deira and offers facilities for trade and business. It is particularly focused on encouraging entrepreneurship in the SME sector.
