Nasdaq OMX comes to Denton Wilde Sapte for Kuwaiti technology partnership

Denton Wilde Sapte has advised the Nasdaq OMX Group, the world's largest exchange company, on a joint venture with the Kuwait Stock Exchange to develop the Kuwait capital market.

The agreement will see Nasdaq OMX working with the Kuwait Stock Exchange to implement the latest trading platform technology, high quality market data and strategic advice on market development and international compliance.

Nasdaq OMX opened an office in Dubai in January 2009 to target the Middle Eastern market.

"This deal is a fantastic illustration of our sectoral strength in technology and our extensive experience specifically in financial sector technology, working hand-in-hand with our leading presence in the Middle East. This is also a very welcome extension to our relationship with Nasdaq OMX and a first instruction for our Middle East network,"

says TMT partner John Worthy.

John led the team with senior associate Winston Green in London, working with consultant Mary Ann Sharp and legal executive Ola Saab in Kuwait.

Denton Wilde Sapte advised Nasdaq OMX on the launch of the Nasdaq OMX Pan-European Market in 2008, which offers an alternative platform to the domestic European stock exchanges.
