Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Communication and Dubai Press Club to undertake joint initiatives

As per a memorandum of understanding between Dubai Press Club and Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Communication at American University in Dubai, both institutions will hold collaborative events such as specialized programs and workshops for media personnel.

The memorandum of understanding, signed on November 2, 2009 by both Maryam Bin Fahad, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club and Ali Jabir, Dean, Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Communication envisages a range of programs aimed at enhancing journalistic skills among the media professionals in the UAE and the wider region. These will include hosting eminent media academics and experts for a variety of skills enhancing workshops and other training programs.

The partnership deal also anticipates future collaborative ventures in media development, taking full advantage of the resources available at both the organizations. These will include research initiatives and media studies as well.

Dubai Press Club and Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Communication will also explore the potential of mutual cooperation in the masters course in media that the latter is planning to launch. This cooperation will take special advantage of the archives of the press club pertaining to the Arab Journalism Award.
