Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs206m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today November 3, 2009 peaked at Dhs206.07m, of which sales exceeded Dhs159.64m. The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs46.43m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 9 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Sport City that was sold for Dhs7.549654m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Sport City acquired for the sum of Dhs6.75m and another in Emirates Hills Third for Dhs5.6925m.

The Ranches area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 3 transactions. Sport City followed it with 3 sales.

During the period, Sport City recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs19.5m, followed by the Ranches area, Dhs9.81m, and Emirates Hills Third area, Dhs5.69m.

The biggest area sold was the 17637 sq ft in the Nad Al Shiba area, which went for Dhs5.51m. A 15475 sq ft plot in the Sport City Area was acquired for Dhs7.55m, while 13222 sq ft of Sport City was disposed of for Dhs6.75m.

During the period under review 10 mortgages worth Dhs12.2m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs3m for an area at Al Ruwayyah. There was another for Dhs2.07m on an area in Ranches.

Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 117 sales transaction out of which 106 were for apartments for a total of Dhs86.10m and 11 for villas at a total sum of Dhs8.84m.

A total of 11 mortgages for Dhs12.50m were registered on villas and apartments.
