Batelco wins Technology Based Learning Award 2009

TLS provide the latest technology based learning solutions in the Mena region.

Batelco Training & Development Specialist Catriona Shaw, collected the award for "The Most Creative and Diverse Implementation of Technology Based Learning," on behalf of Batelco. Prior to the award ceremony Ms. Shaw gave a presentation on the development of technology based learning at Batelco since the first pilot in 2005.

Batelco invests over BD1m annually in the training and development of its staff including an extensive e-Learning initiative which provides a choice of 250 SkillSoft e-Learning courses, a Project Management Portal and an e-Library, for all Batelco staff in Bahrain. The Company, as a leader in new technology is always keen to take advantage of innovations in delivering learning and is looking to expand the programme further in 2010.

The one-day workshop, held at the Marina hotel in Kuwait under the banner of "The True Value of Learning", was the first in a series of events that will take place around the Mena region. The event showcased success stories from a number of companies in the region about the utilization and integration of Technology Based Learning in their corporate training initiatives.
