Dewa signs agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation with Microsoft International

Under this agreement, DEWA becomes the first Government Department to use applications for Windows 7 and to adopt the latest technology solutions and technical support from Microsoft and their partners, who are certified in the field of technology solutions.

The agreement was signed by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer - MD & CEO on behalf of DEWA and Mr. Charbel Fakhoury - Regional General Manager - Microsoft Gulf, on behalf of Microsoft International. The event was attended by the senior officials of both DEWA and Microsoft.

After the signing ceremony, HE, MD &CEO, stated that DEWA is heedful in introducing the latest technologies and solutions and to enter them into its various operations, and shall constantly update the technologies it owns, in accordance with the latest programs and solutions available in the global market. In this regard, DEWA is much concerned with entering agreements and partnerships with reputable companies and organizations, on which DEWA can rely and ensure supply of the best technologies owned by these companies and organizations to the aspirations of DEWA to drive its operations to the highest possible levels.

Mr. Al Tayer mentioned that, the partnership with Microsoft is momentous for both DEWA and Microsoft, as DEWA aims to recruit, attract and make use of the best technologies that will contribute to raising efficiency, save time and effort and support its perpetual aspiration and position in leadership and excellence that has been established over the years.

From his part, Mr. Charbel Fakhoury - Regional General Manager of Microsoft Gulf, stated that, this agreement will enable DEWA to access the applications and tools it needs to expand its electronic services and applications without incurring additional expenses in return, moreover, the agreement gives Microsoft the opportunity to work closely with a considerable strategic partner to it. We support those who invest in new technologies such as Windows 7, which places DEWA among the pioneer Government organizations in Dubai that introduces the new operation system, which is a worthwhile, profitable investment in modern technologies.
