- Lebanon: Wednesday, November 04 - 2009 at 08:44
- PRESS RELEASE
Millennium Energy Industries (MEI) announced from its regional base in Amman, its readiness to launch its operations, using a grant provided by the European Union and in cooperation with Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), in the Lebanese market.
MEI will provide economically viable solar hot water and space heating solutions that save up to 85% on traditional fuel bill such as gas, diesel and electricity.
"With experience gained from +200 projects executed by MEI in the MENA region, and payback on initial investment of 1-5 years, depending on the application and fuel prices locally, we are happy to announce that Lebanese investors can now start taking advantage of our solar space and water heating solutions for hotels, hospitals, residences and malls, as well as educational and industrial facilities", said Ennis Rimawi, Chairman of MEI.
MEI also offers, using a solar adsorption chiller manufactured by MEI's partner, economically and technically viable solar cooling solution, the first of its kind in the world to operate successfully in harsh summer conditions, as demonstrated in Aqaba, Jordan. MEI's cooling solution has been operating with high efficiency in Aqaba since June of this year, where temperatures reach up to 45 degrees Celsius.
With rising interest in solar solutions in the Lebanese market, due to high fuel prices, and solar projects executed and awarded to MEI across the region, MEI is currently responding to inquiries from interested potential clients in Lebanon, to study their energy demand, and propose solar solutions that suit their energy needs.
MEI has recently been awarded several new projects in Jordan including the Siniora Food Industries, the Crown Plaza Resort, and several Schools funded by the German and American governments.
These projects come after MEI's completion of the Marriott Dead Sea Resort project; one of the largest of its kind in the hospitality sector in the world, in which MEI's solar system is heating the resort's pools and providing the resort with its need of hot water for domestic use.
