WEF President and AKBANK Chairman join NBK International Advisory Board

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), the largest bank in Kuwait and most highly rated in the Middle East, has announced the appointment of Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, Switzerland, and Suzan Sabanci Dinçer, Chairman and Executive Board Member of AKBANK, Turkey, to the International Advisory Board.
Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is the Chairman and Executive Board Member of AKBANK, Turkey. She assumes various responsibilities as a member of Citigroup International Advisory Board, a member of Chatham House Panel of Senior Advisers, a Founding Member and Board Member at Endeavour Turkey and as a YPO (Young Presidents' Organization), TÜSİAD (Turkish Industrialists' and Business Association) and a KAGİDER (Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey) member. Ms. Sabancı Dinçer has been a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader since 2006. She is also Luxembourg Honorary Consul.
Several major international financial and banking organizations such as Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have established similar advisory boards, however, the NBK International Advisory Board sets a precedent for banks and financial institutions in the Middle East.
The role of the IAB, which is chaired by The Rt Hon Sir John Major, KG CH, is to contribute international perspectives on long-term strategic issues and developments pertaining to the region and globally, that should help NBK in reviewing and developing its long-term strategy and achieve its vision of remaining the premier Arab bank as per the testimony of all major credit-rating agencies.
In addition to the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir John Major, the IAB brings together a host of the most renowned and influential world figures in the various fields of banking, business, economics, politics and strategy.
