The appointment comes at a time when Citadel Capital is entering into a number of new investments in the region and expanding the regional footprint of its existing platforms.
Today, Citadel Capital has 17 Opportunity-Specific Funds that control Platform Companies with investments of more than $8.3bn in 14 industries including energy, mining, agrifoods, cement, transportation and retail.
Sahara will be handling Citadel Capital's corporate communications requirements including media relations, crisis management and corporate affairs in the GCC.
Since its founding in 2004, Citadel Capital has returned $2.4bn in cash to its co-investors — more than any other MENA private equity firm.
