Key clients, special invitees from the industry and senior Ernst & Young partners attended the roundtable.

The theme of the day was Demonstrating value - In an environment where cost cutting is top of every organization's agenda, how can Internal Audit deliver greater value with a lower budget? The regional networking event offered Internal Audit executives and Audit Committee members an opportune platform to share relevant business practices, discuss critical issues, and address other market dynamics affecting the role of internal audit departments in major corporations.

Outlining long term objectives, Ali Al Shabibi, Partner, Advisory, Ernst & Young Middle East said,

"Our priority was to create a secure environment to encourage candid and insightful discussion on the evolving role of internal audit. Over the past few years and especially in the recent past, there's been a fundamental shift in the spheres of responsibilities and emerging risks. This warrants an ongoing dialogue within the industry to share and develop leading practices. Ernst & Young is committed to initiating such industry programs which go a long way in addressing various challenges that businesses in the Middle East currently face."

The collaborative and interactive networking session was led by Jonathan Blackmore, Director, Advisory, Ernst & Young. His professional milestones include leading one of Ernst & Young largest internal audit outsourcing assignments globally.
