Yas Marina Circuit's Grandstands, the best of its kind in the region, can seat a total of 50,000 spectators giving gracious views of the race track. The timely completion highlights the dedication and commitment of the company that completes the most prestigious stadium roofs of the country exceeding customer expectations. Mr. Douglas MacAskill, Senior Project Manager, Aldar says "Even though Taiyo faced many challenges, we are glad that the roof works are completed on time exceeding quality expectations. The covered grandstands are ready to protect the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix spectators from the bright sun".

Taiyo engineered, fabricated and constructed architectural membrane roofs for all the Grandstands that include Main, North, West Grandstands and the Pit buildings. Taiyo has shaded a total area of more than a million square feet, making it the largest single PTFE membrane project in the UAE ever. M/s Aldar opted for Titanium Dioxide; the latest surface treatment technology for PTFE coated glass membrane. According to Mr. Sreekanth Gopi, Sales and Marketing Manager,

"It was a great overcoming various challenges at different phases of engineering, fabrication and construction of membrane. Technically innovative solutions offered by globally competent in-house experienced engineers at different stages gave the momentum to complete the project within the quality expectations. Taiyo is once again proud to be associated with a project which brings pride to the UAE. We thank the Rulers of the country to make this dream a reality."

Mr. Nobutake Kihara, The General Manager says "It was a challenge accepting this project.

Considering the size of the project and the obligatory completion date, it was demanding task compiling the competent resources in engineering, project managing, fabrication and construction. We exploited the Taiyo's vast global technical resources including our most experienced engineers and installers to complete the incredible project on time. Our fabrication facilities that included world's largest membrane factories in Osaka and Mexico were running in full swing faster than ever before day and night for months delivering fabricated product on time. It is a great honor to be part of the Middle East's most watched upcoming motor sports event."

TAIYO has the experience and expertise to be able to respond to challenge of any size in the region. Taiyo recently completed the Cricket Stadium Roof, Dubai Sport City, another esteemed landmark stadium of the country. The Tio2 treated PTFE roof covers 200,000sqft of seating area of the stadium, keeping spectators shaded from the bright sun.

Taiyo is also currently working on two more large scale projects for Yas Island development.
Welcome Pavilion at the entrance of the Ferrari Showroom is the largest ETFE structure in the country forming roof of an area of 130,000sqft.

It is the first major ETFE structure in the region. Once complete, the dome entrance will form another landmark on Yas Island spanning 100 metres in diameter and 35 metres in height. The ETFE, manufactured and fabricated in Japan, is a lightweight inflated structure that weights one-tenth of the weight of glass. When compared to traditional glass roofs, the product is flexible, use light weight structure, carry thermal insulation characteristics and could be back-lit with the use of LED lighting changing colors. The inflated cushions has outer layer silver printed to protect people from incident rays of the sun.

Taiyo is also constructing the largest single car park shade structure project in the UAE with a membrane area of more than a million square feet. The project consumes more than 1,000,000sqft of fabric area for customers of Yas Mall, Yas Island. The project will be completed in phases.
