The meeting and the Cyber Learning workshop will provide a forum for the participants to: identify new and emerging challenges in their locales; update the group on the status of nuclear education and training in their nation, and; make recommendations to facilitate such education and training through cyber learning.
Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, KUSTAR's Interim President, commented:
"Khalifa University was selected to host this event to reflect its emerging importance in the field of science, technology and research. The development of this sector is integral to the growth of the UAE's knowledge-based economy. Our mission at the University is to be at the forefront supporting this long-term strategic aim."
KUSTAR has also taken a leading role in developing plans to strengthen the human resource capability of the UAE as the nation moves toward implementing a peaceful civil nuclear energy program to fuel the economic and social growth of the country.
