The Luxe List is compiled of notable debuts researched and reported by a roving band of discerning contributors. They noted W Doha was 'sure to raise a few eyebrows' with its location in the heart of the futuristic City Center shopping complex. The hotel wowed with its 'cheeky', '60s ski-lodge feel' with its shimmering curtains, mood lighting and the '291 rooms' exceptionally comfy beds. W Doha's 290-square meter E-WOW suite received an enthusiastic nod with its party-people-friendly snooker table, aquariums and life-sized horse lamp.
W Doha's chirpy, young staff representing 52 nationalities was noted, as was the hotel's diverse culinary options, including Michelin three-star celebrity chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten's two restaurants, Market by Jean-Georges and Spice Market, French bistro, La Maison du Caviar and a Teuscher chocolate shop. WET and Wahm, W Doha's pool and pool-side lounge, made the grade with WET's multi-tiered, black-tiled pool featuring underwater music and fiber-optic lighting, and Wahm's colorful, comfy cabanas. Bliss Spa, the first outlet of the New York-based chain in the Middle East, was recognized for its unusual treatments such as the Quadruple 'thigh-pass' massage.
