In addition, the government of Canberra, Australia's capital, will soon roll out power stations for electric vehicles with the aim of encouraging citizens to switch to more energy friendly transport.
Stanhope met with Ali bin Towaih, Executive Director of Enpark, and Sougata Nandi, Director of Enpark's Sustainable Energy and Environment Division, to gain a deeper understanding of the cluster's project as well as TECOM Investments sustainable development initiatives.
Bin Towaih said:
"This was an important opportunity for Enpark to exchange ideas and gain a better understanding of the progress achieved by the Australian State with regards to the adoption of new sources of energy, energy and water conservation programs, and the adoption of laws to compel a wiser usage of natural resources in order to better preserve the environment."
"It was also an opportunity to extend an invitation to Australian companies to join Enpark's clean technology cluster and work with us to help create a sustainable future."
Bin Towaih welcomed the invitation by Stanhope to visit Canberra in the near future to witness the city's achievements in sustainable development projects as well as the regulations and policies already in place.
The visit by the Australian Chief Minister and his entourage came after the publication of the first Sustainable Development Report in the region by Enpark, which highlighted the sustainable initiatives launched by Tecom and its achievements with regards to water and electricity savings.
