Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs226.30m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today Sunday November 8th 2009 peaked at Dhs226.30m, of which sales exceeded Dhs162.70m.

The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs63.59m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 4 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Wadi Al Amardi that was sold for Dhs9m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Mirdif acquired for the sum of Dhs3.58272m and another in Abu Hail for Dhs1.8m.

The Abu Hail area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 2 transactions. Mirdif followed it with 1 sales.

During the period, Wadi Al Amardi recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs9m, followed by the Mirdif area, Dhs3.58m, and Abu Hail area, Dhs3.07m.

The biggest area sold was the 229809 sq ft in the Wadi Al Amardi area, which went for Dhs9m. A 9952 sq ft plot in the Mirdif Area was acquired for Dhs3.58m, while 3600 sq ft of Abu Hail was disposed of for Dhs1.8m.

During the period under review 4 mortgages worth Dhs2.2m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs.75m for an area at AL WARQA SECOND. There was another for Dhs.75m on an area in OUD AL MUTEENA FIRST

Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 62 sales transaction out of which 56 were for apartments for a total of Dhs73.57m and 6 for villas at a total sum of Dhs13.41m.

A total of 8 mortgages for Dhs11.75m were registered on villas and apartments.
