The agreement was officially signed in Doha by A'Saffa Poultry Chairman Saleh Mohammad Al Shanfari and the Chairman and Managing Director of Hassad Food, Nasser Mohamed Al Hajri.
Hassad Food is Qatar's investor and developer in the agriculture and livestock sector and when looking for an expert partner to design and manage the poultry project. A'Saffa was chosen due to highest international quality standards A'Saffa had shown in the development of their own state of the art poultry farm in the south of Oman at Thumrait.
A'Saffa Chairman Saleh Mohammad Al Shanfari said:
"Hassad Food is a pioneering initiative in the Arab world. The agreement indicates the strong fraternal relations between Qatar and Oman."
Meanwhile A'Saffa Poultry CEO Dr. Nasser Al Maully explained that the company has pioneered the business of building successful big size integrated poultry projects and the company has an edge over other competitors that are helping the company to become the leader in the business and providing one stop solutions for any poultry projects.
"A'Saffa is the leading poultry farm in the Omani Market in terms of quality and consumer satisfaction. The company will be the consultant in the project design and management of the farm due to its long experience in the area," explained Mr. Al Hajri, the Chairman and Managing Director of Hassad Food.
"The new poultry farm in Qatar will comply to Islamic Shariah principles in its maintenance and slaughtering of the chicken and will have a new label of its own. The 30sq km farm will be located towards the south of Qatar away from the residential areas and produce up to 17,000 metric tones of chicken and 90 million eggs annually."
Production is expected to start within 30 months.
