Citibank Head of Marketing joins BPA Worldwide's Middle East Advisory Board
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, November 09 - 2009 at 12:00
BPA Worldwide, the global auditor of media, has bolstered advertiser representation on its Middle East Advisory Board with the appointment of Mohammed Al-Tajer, Citibank's Head of Marketing for the Middle East and Africa.
BPA Worldwide established an office in Dubai in June 2006 and its Middle East Advisory Board provides input to BPA from local buyers and sellers. The current membership of 15 people comprises eight representing advertisers and agencies and seven media owners. Other advertisers represented include Beiersdorf; telecoms company STC and the Al Jawad Business Group.
"The progress that the media industry in the region has made in providing reliable, audited data on which advertisers can make informed spending decisions needs to be encouraged and maintained," explains Mohammed Al-Tajer. "My participation on the Middle East Advisory Board will, I hope, assist colleagues from the agency and publishing sectors in moving forward the commitment to independently audited media for the benefit of all parties."
Glenn Hansen, BPA Worldwide President and CEO, commented, "Mohammed Al-Tajer has experience that spans multiple and diverse market sectors so he both inherently understands the issues particular to the local market place as well as the needs and demands of regional and international brands. His insight on our advisory board will be invaluable as we continue to develop a culture of media transparency in the region."
