Following an earlier announcement of a partnership with IDEA in India, this is the second partnership to be announced under Friendi mobile's Reach Out program, a strategic initiative in which Friendi mobile is partnering with leading mobile operators abroad to offer special services and great value.
Antti Arponen, CEO of Friendi mobile stated,
"Teaming up with Dialog is part of the focus of Friendi mobile to serve people with a piece of their heart abroad, i.e. expatriates and nationals with an international element to their life. Providing Oman-based customers with value for money is our key aim when it comes to the Reach Out program, and we are continuing rolling out partnerships with mobile operators in Asia and elsewhere until we have all relevant countries covered"
Arponen explained that Friendi mobile call rates to Sri Lanka will reduce immediately as a benefit of the agreement. "From 8th November there will be significantly lower rates for calls from Friendi mobile customers in Oman to Dialog customers in Sri Lanka, and vice versa. Calls from Oman will be charged at as little as Bz. 129/min, while calls from Dialog to Friendi Oman will be offered at just Rs. 25/min. These rates are the lowest available mobile call rates between the two countries."
Friendi mobile's partnership with Dialog Telekom, who recently achieved 6m customers in Sri Lanka, is proving a winning proposition for mobile users who are looking for improved rates and solutions for international calls.
Supun Weerasinghe, CEO of Dialog Mobile, said: "Our partnership with Friendi mobile is an important step in our efforts to connect Sri Lankans overseas, as well as their friends and family back home. In addition to preferential call rates, both Dialog and Friendi will leverage this partnership to introduce value-added options that would enrich the mobile experience of customers in Oman and home. We are excited to be partnering with Friendi mobile, and we look forward to a successful partnership in the years ahead."
H.E. Mr.D.M.M.Ranaraja, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Oman said, "There are currently an estimated 25,000 Sri Lankans in the Sultanate, most of whom are in middle to low income employment. We welcome this initiative from Dialog and Friendi mobile which would help to bring them closer to their families and loved ones back in Sri Lanka."
