Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs268.91m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today November 9, 2009 peaked at Dhs268.91m, of which sales exceeded Dhs142.60m. The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs126.31m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 5 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Al Suq Al Kabeer that was sold for Dhs10.7m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Al Warqa First acquired for the sum of Dhs6.03766m and another in Nad Shamma for Dhs2m.

The Al Baraha area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 1 transactions. Al Suq Al Kabeer followed it with 1 sales.

During the period, Al Suq Al Kabeer recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs10.7m, followed by the Al Warqa First area, Dhs6.04m, and Nad Shamma area, Dhs2m.

The biggest area sold was the 16318 sq ft in the Al Warqa First area, which went for Dhs6.04m. A 10000 sq ft plot in the Nad Shamma Area was acquired for Dhs2m, while 3518 sq ft of Al Suq Al Kabeer was disposed of for Dhs10.7m.

During the period under review 13 mortgages worth Dhs65.44m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs40m for an area at Emirates Hills Third. There was another for Dhs15m on an area in Al Nahda Second.

Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 62 sales transaction out of which 58 were for apartments for a total of Dhs47.27m and 4 for villas at a total sum of Dhs9.13m.

A total of 2 mortgages for Dhs3.20m were registered on villas and apartments.
