High-level delegation of doctors from Korea visit DHA's primary healthcare centre

A high-level delegation of doctors from Korea visited the Dubai Health Authority to discuss ways to foster medical cooperation and enhance primary health care facilities.
Dr Ahmed Kalban, CEO of Primary Heath Care at the DHA welcomed the delegation and briefed them about DHA's vision and mission and the emphasis it gives to primary health initiatives to ensure that the citizens and residents in the Emirate of Dubai have access to world-class health facilities.
Dr Kalban also praised Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, President of INDEX holding for his efforts to bring the first Samsung Medical Centre to Dubai. The medical centre specializes in Oncology and Dubai will be the first destination in the Middle-East for Samsung Medical Centre to establish its base.
Dr Nahed AbdulKhaleq Monsef, Director of Health Affairs department, Primary Health Care Sector, DHA, said that keeping in mind the growth in population and the need to constantly match the demand for healthcare, such international collaborations are the way forward.
Dr Amna Khamis, Director of the health centres, Primary Healthcare Sector at the DHA, emphasised on the role awareness initiatives play in educating the public about leading a healthy lifestyle. She said that efficient and quality primary healthcare centres are crucial in promoting good health amongst the public as in most cases they are the first point of contact for patients.
She said the DHA aims to provide a strong primary healthcare system to benefit people of all ages and nationalities living in the Emirate of Dubai.
At the end of the visit, Dr Tariq Khoory, Director of Dental services, Primary Healthcare sector, gave the delegation an overview of the dental healthcare facilities prevalent in all DHA primary health centres and also highlighted the fact that the facilities use of latest technology which meet international standards.
He said DHA understands the important role that primary healthcare centres play and therefore DHA pays a strong emphasis to further build a robust primary healthcare model.
