Maitha Mohammed bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA, said:
"The number of users registered in the system through the website www.mpark.rta.ae is now more than 10,000 subscribers, an obvious indication of continuing increase in the demand for the service which is currently available at Bur Dubai and some parts of Deira."
She pointed out that work is ongoing to expand the outreach of the service to include public parking in all parts of the city of Dubai by the end of the current year.
For his part Rashid Majid Al Abbar, Director of Etisalat e-Commerce, pointed out that Etisalat is working towards developing that sort of services which would facilitate things for its subscribers in their daily life and that the continuing cooperation with RTA is meant to achieve this goal and all facilities relating to transportation means.
He commended the continuing collaboration and strong partnership between RTA and Etisalat. He recalled that the company had previously won the naming rights for the 'Etisalat Station' located at the beginning of Dubai Metro Green Line at Al Qusais saying that Etisalat is now equipping that station with the state-of-the-art communication technology in the world.
Al Abbar concluded, "We are happy to provide this service to our subscribers for free where they can book their required parking without any SMS fees throughout the promotional offer period."
