"Through this forum, we seek to address the deep issues concerning the employees who are the cornerstone of our success. This is very crucial for us as we move ahead with our ambitious expansion plans that will turn Qatargas into the world's premier LNG company," he said.
Terming people's safety as a core value and top priority of Qatargas, Mr. Al Suwaidi said the company would neither compromise nor be complacent on safety issues.
"We want our people to go home safe at the end of every day. If one of us, whoever he is, feels that safety is at stake somewhere, he has been given the authority to stop work at any time. This concern has paid off very well as we've completed nearly seven years of operations without any Lost Time incident. I thank and congratulate all staff for this achievement,"
he noted.
The day's events also included a presentation by Mr. Adrian Reed, Corporate Planning Manager, on the accomplishments of Qatargas during 2009 and the main activities that are lined up for the years ahead.
During the meetings, employees from all departments have put forward their suggestions, asked questions and openly communicated on a wide range of issues. Mr. Al Suwaidi, aided by Chief Operating Officers and heads of different departments, responded to the employees' queries and promised to study and review several issues raised, prior to finding the most appropriate solutions.
