Zurich Insurance Company appoints Sophie Di Meglio as Underwriting Manager - Management Liability

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd ("ZIC") has appointed Sophie Di Meglio as Underwriting Manager - Management Liability for Global Corporate in the Middle East (GCiME). Sophie will be based in Dubai and will lead ZIC's underwriting activities in the region for the Directors' and Officers' Liability, Crime, Pension Trust Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Financial Institutions' Professional Indemnity products.

She will report into Alfredo Alonso, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Global Corporate in the Middle East and Keith Thomas, Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Corporate Financial Lines.

Sophie has fourteen years of diverse experience in Financial Lines, with her first role being a D&O underwriter with UAP Executive Partners. Subsequently, she worked with AXA Switzerland as Financial Lines Underwriter responsible for the Swiss market. She then worked with AXA Corporate Solutions Paris and AIG in France where she was their Senior Financial Lines Underwriter - Commercial Major Accounts. Sophie's last position before joining Zurich was at CNA Insurance in Paris as Financial Lines Manager. Sophie holds a Bachelor in Business Law and Master's degree in European Law from Paris XII University.

Saad Mered, Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of Zurich Middle East, the business unit responsible for driving ZIC's activities in the region, said:
"As corporate governance principles take hold in the region, Zurich feels it important to bring high level expertise in the relevant products closer to this market. Sophie brings with her a wealth of underwriting experience and product expertise. She will deploy Zurich's unique proposition in this emerging risk area and expand this important segment of Zurich's portfolio."
