Pashmina shawls or Cashmere shawls are woven from the incredibly soft pashm (inner coat of hair) of mountain goats called Capra Hircus. The Pashm of these goats is truly nature's wonder and is 6 times finer than the human hair and it's one of the most rare & precious natural fibers.

Over the years, Pashmina has gained great acclaim and recognition within the international fashion façade. And in line with the season's trend forecasts, Pride of Kashmir has designed its latest offering.

"We have always experienced a great demand for our shawls during the winter months in Dubai. And its popularity as a functional accessory has grown over the years. Pride of Kashmir Pashminas are an age old tradition, which we have always endeavored to keep updated in accordance to ongoing trends. We are excited about the response we have received so far and foresee this to be our most popular collection yet,"

said Musadiq Shah, Managing Director, Pride of Kashmir.

The collection includes chic shades based on solid and cold tones like midnight blues and deep pinks. And casual colors outlining mixed shades with bold combinations of oranges, scarlets and neutral nuances. The most popular classic range based on earthy colors features combinations of browns, greens and gray and foggy shades.

Pride of Kashmir is driven by its mission to showcase and promote Kashmir's fine art and workmanship throughout the world. In addition to supporting the livelihood of local workers, Pride of Kashmir has helped preserve valuable traditions, like the dying art of "Kani" weaving.

The technique is exclusively used in Kashmir that transforms delicate Kashmiri wool, into the most delicate high-end Pashmina shawls available in the market today.

Pride of Kashimir's winter 2009 collection is available at its Deira City Center, Mercato, Mall of the Emirates, Souk Al Bahar, and Souk Madinat Jumeirah outlets.
