Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs158.21m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today Tuesday10-11-2009 peaked at 158.21m, of which sales exceeded Dhs124.03m. The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs34.18m, according to the Land Department.
The Al Ruwayyah area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 3 transactions. Palm Jumeirah followed it with 2 sales.
During the period, Palm Jumeirah recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs9.6 million, followed by the Lehbab area, Dhs5.44m, and Emirates Hills Firstarea, Dhs5m.
The biggest area sold was the 543790 sq ft in the Lehbab area, which went for Dhs5.44m. A 15577 sq ft plot in the Al Ruwayyah Area was acquired for Dhs1.71m, while 15028 sq ft of Nad Al Hamar was disposed of for Dhs2.71m.
During the period under review 6 mortgages worth Dhs5.78mwere registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs2.03m for an area at Emirates Hills Third. There was another for Dhs.75m on an area in Al Barsha Second.
Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 65 sales transaction out of which 63 were for apartments for a total of Dhs64.31m and 2 for villas at a total sum of Dhs3.69m.
A total of 8 mortgages for Dhs8.04m were registered on villas and apartments
