Reaffirming Economic Zones World's (EZW) commitment to excellence, Jafza, its flagship entity, achieved the ISO 9001:2008 certification for its effective management and control of operations. This is an upgrade on the already existing management excellence certificates Jafza has won from the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

Jafza's re-engineered customer care initiative is one of the factors that led to the ISO upgrade.
The significant up gradation in Jafza's quality accreditation followed the latest inspection visit by ISO's External Quality Assurance Assessors recently, who evaluated the free zone operator's Quality Management System (QMS).

The inspection visit is part of ISO's six-monthly assessments to identify non-conformances or areas for improvements in the QMS and to advice on corrective actions or improvements.

Jafza has developed a process based Quality Management System, which documents all core business and support processes in the free zone and meets the requirement of ISO standards.

Fatma Salem, Executive Vice President and Commercial Director Operations, EZW-UAE Region, said:
"Like all Economic Zone World companies, Jafza is deeply committed to the highest standards of management and operational excellence. We continually monitor our services and partner with the best quality certifiers to assess our performance and ensure they adhere to international standards. This latest ISO certification reiterates our focus on delivering the best in every area of operation."

In 1996 Jafza became the first free zone in the world to be awarded an ISO (ISO 9001:1994) accreditation for its Quality Management System. It was later enhanced to ISO 9001:2000 levels in 2001 which has now been upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 standards.
