Laila Al Jassmi, CEO, Clinical Support Services Sector at the DHA presented a paper at the congress on medical tourism in the Emirate of Dubai.

Al Jassmi said:
"Health is an important aspect which affects us all and over the last few years Dubai has seen a phenomenal growth in the health sector and this has been possible because of the vision of our leader, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who has given significant importance to the health sector in the Dubai strategic plan 2015."

"Keeping this vision in mind, the DHA has developed the health policy and strategy for the Emirate of Dubai and we are in the process of further streamlining our policies to meet the future healthcare needs of Dubai. Our strategies are designed to protect the health of the people who live and work in Dubai and to promote a safe healthcare environment.

"Dubai's strategic location and high quality of health services has attracted people to visit Dubai for healthcare purposes. We aim to further encourage people to seek treatment in Dubai and it is our vision to ensure that Dubai holds a strong position globally in healthcare and health tourism."

Ms Jassmi also took part in the panel discussion and highlighted the model followed by the Emirate of Dubai which has facilitated international stakeholders to increase their healthcare investment in Dubai.
