Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs368.04m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today Wednesday 11-11-2009 peaked at Dhs368.04m, of which sales exceeded Dhs198.32m. The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs169.71m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 11 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in World Islands that was sold for Dhs34.87536m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Palm Jumeirah acquired for the sum of Dhs8.3m and another in Palm Jumeirah for Dhs5.006895m.

The Emirates Hills Third area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 4 transactions. Palm Jumeirah followed it with 2 sales.

During the period, World Islands recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs34.88m, followed by the Palm Jumeirah area, Dhs13.31m, and Emirates Hills Third area, Dhs9.58m.

The biggest area sold was the 512847.03 sq ft in the World Islands area, which went for Dhs34.88m. A 13398.26 sq ft plot in the Palm Jumeirah area was acquired for Dhs5.01m, while 12006 sq ft of Ranches was disposed of for Dhs4.5m.

During the period under review 10 mortgages worth Dhs89.73m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs72.8m for an area at Al Garhoud. There was another for Dhs6.64m on an area in Palm Jumeirah Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 91 sales transaction out of which 90 were for apartments for a total of Dhs84.54m and 1 for villas at a total sum of Dhs90 thousand

A total of 11 mortgages for Dhs40.01m were registered on villas and apartments.
