Bahrain's Capital Club hosts Business Forum on key challenges faced by family businesses in the region

Capital Club, Bahrain's premier private business club hosted a Business Forum entitled, 'Challenges facing family businesses and what successful families do to address them'- to help establish crucial strategies needed to restructure and professionalise the family owned businesses that are a prominent part of the Middle East entrepreneurial landscape. The Forum was led by guest speaker Amin Nasser, Middle East Family Advisory Leader from PricewaterhouseCoopers UAE.

During the interactive forum, Amin Nasser highlighted the common challenges facing the family businesses in the region and urged business families to reflect on and review their business strategies in order to address these critical issues.

He outlined practical and comprehensive approaches to assist businesses in the region review their corporate strategies and identify solutions to ensure business sustainability in a difficult global economic climate alongside inevitable generational change.

Speaking to Club Members and guests, Amin Nasser said:

"With over 80% of businesses being either owned or controlled by families, family businesses are a vital force to the economic success of the region. I am delighted to have this opportunity to discuss some of the key challenges faced by the business families in the Middle East and to share some of my experiences as to how these families deal with the issues of continuity, succession planning and conflict management."


As head of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Family Business Forum in the Middle East, Amin's experience with family business in the Middle East is considerable. He has helped companies establish their ownership governance and their family constitutions or protocols. In doing so, he has developed various structures that have helped families achieve sustainable long term continuity and success.
