DLA Piper announces new senior appointments

DLA Piper announced that Jim Delkousis has been appointed as the new Office Managing Partner for its Dubai office. Jim will officially take up the role in January 2010, succeeding Tony Holland who has been appointed as CEO for DLA Phillips Fox in Australia, effective 15 February 2010.

Jim joined DLA Piper's Dubai office in 2007 from Australian law firm, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, where he had been a partner since 1999. He has over 20 years experience in all forms of dispute resolution, with a particular focus on major infrastructure projects.

Jim has advised on dispute resolution matters on major infrastructure projects across Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

Jim is head of the Litigation and Regulatory practice in the Middle East and he will continue to lead the group when he takes up his new role next year.

Tony Holland is also Regional Head of Finance for the Middle East and Dubai-based partner, Shehzaad Sacranie, has been appointed to succeed him in this role, effective 1 February 2010.

Shehzaad has extensive project finance and Islamic finance experience in the Middle East. He has advised a number of high profile global financial institutions with interests across the Middle East region and has significant knowledge and understanding of the local business market.
