Direct Dial in (DDI) service to be phased out

As part of Batelco's pledge to provide customers with the most enhanced infrastructure and up-to-date services, the company has announced that starting 1st December 2009 the Direct Dial In (DDI) service will no longer be available, and will be replaced with the newer technology offered by ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network).

A small percentage of Batelco's customers who are still using the DDI service have been recommended to switch to the ISDN service, which is supported by Batelco's state-of-the-art Next Generation Network (NGN).

Batelco's DDI service allows callers to reach internal extensions within an organisation that has numerous extensions, without going through the company's operator. However the ISDN service provides exactly the same facility with a seamless migration of the DDI numbers and extensions to the ISDN service.

"We are proud of our continuous advancement in delivering world class technologies to help our business customers to stay connected with their customers in Bahrain and overseas,"

said Batelco Group General Manager Media & Government Relations Ahmed Al Janahi.

"Our account managers have already contacted their clients who use the DDI service to discuss the migration dates and process," he added.
For any further enquiries, business customers may contact their account managers directly or phone Batelco's Business Call Centre on 17881144.
