The Discovery Channel joins the newly merged Orbit Showtime Network

Orbit Showtime announced today that as of 11 November, The Discovery Channel will become available exclusively on the recently merged Orbit Showtime Network replacing Discovery World, and BBC Prime re-brands to BBC Entertainment adding a great new line up of programming to its existing top shows.

Discovery Channel, one of the world's most trusted media brands, delivers an extensive range of informative and entertaining factual content featuring remarkable real life stories in a truthful, thrilling, engaging, and contemporary manner across a wide variety of genres including popular science, history, engineering, investigation, and exploration.

There is more for Orbit Showtime subscribers as the all new rebranded BBC Entertainment a 24-hour channel, which provides audiences with a diverse mix of the very best programming from both the BBC and independent producers is also available and will present a mix of entertainment shows from award-winning comedies and dramas to ground-breaking documentaries and lifestyle series offering ideas on cooking, fashion, gardening and interior design.

Discovery and BBC Entertainment will be automatically available to Premium Orbit Showtime subscribers including Platinum extra, Premier Plus and Movies Plus packages on 11 November.

The newly merged Orbit Showtime platform brings together 75 premium channels, the widest choice of premium entertainment in the Middle East and North Africa on a single platform. The new platform is owned by Panther Media Group, a company registered in DIFC and equally owned by Orbit Group and KIPCO.
